Cross Targeting

What is Cross Targeting?

Cross targeting is a technique created by Cross Pixel Media that enables advertisers to show ads on the web to an ecommerce partner's customers. Cross Pixel Media uses cross targeting to show ads across a network of 2,400 publishers to consumers that have been actively shopping on leading ecommerce web sites. For example, a seller of sheets and pillows is cross targeting ads to consumers that having been shopping for a mattress on a leading mattress web site. In the offline world, catalog companies and direct marketers rent their mailing lists to one another as a key acquisition strategy for the marketer. Cross targeting translates an effective offline tactic to the online world, bringing transparency and brand association to behaviorally targeted data. Knowing the source of your data is the key component of cross targeting because ads that are presented to consumers of similarly situated brands have a higher likelihood of conversion than the current behavioral model that offers aggregated data from blind sources.
